Do Ghosts Twang Harps? Perplexed Policeman Asks
Detroit Free Press, May 7, 1922 |
This is a question troubling a certain few Grand Rapids residents, including Patrolman William E. Crawford, who heard the twanging of harp strings as the officer was inspecting rear doors of business houses, near the down town section early one morning.
No lights were in evidence in the building, and Crawford flashed a light into the interior. The music ceased.
"Darned spooky, whatever it was," declares the officer. The music was also heard by others in the neighborhood.
